I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie

This hilarious Thanksgiving story is based on the popular cumulative poem "I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly."   An elderly lady has been invited to her younger relatives' home for Thanksgiving dinner, and brings a pie, as well as a HUGE appetite!  She just can't control her hunger, and quickly eats the pie she brought, followed in rapid order by a jug of cider, all the dinner fixings, and the turkey.  Her waistline disappears as she grows larger and larger, much to the horror of the adults, and the delight of the children. "Perhaps she'll die!"  Come enjoy the excellent ending, totally in keeping with the usual celebration of Thanksgiving.  (Jeannie Bellavance bellavance@erols.com. for Pennsylvania Young Reader's Choice Awards)
